Is this not a self-defeating statement? Humans aren't that intelligent, in the grand scheme of things; surely it is not hard for the Almighty to write a foolproof book?

Humans have always written books that they claim is the word of God. Surely you know that if humans write something there is subjectivity and bias in there. Therefore anything written by humans is indeed non objective.

Human No More. You just don't get why I put this thread up. Ashen Key does but you just try time and time again to counter the link I put up with more and more arguments. Seems like you didn't notice but I didn't put this thread in the debate thread. This was just an interesting site I found from my local newspaper and the site had some interesting information that opened my eyed and I decided to share it with people.

You can't see that though can you and I'm not going to argue with you any more, no one really can.

Another thing. How can I recruit people if I'm not part of the said religion? I'm not even part of any mainstream religion.

There are good quaran followers and bad quaran followers. The good ones should not be punished because of what the bad ones have done.

Well, if that's actually a problem, (which IMO it isn't) why doesn't He just write the book Himself?

Because there is already a book out here, and He is not about to waste His time coming down to make another one?

Surely God doesn't have a finite amount of time and concentration? Besides, it was mentioned earlier the existing book is flawed.

Not in the eyes of most of the religious population, it isn't. And anyway, you'd think God might have more pressing matters then rewriting a book, right? He has the universe to deal with.

That's assuming he owes you a book, or you deserve to have a book written for you. According to most mainstream religions, we deserve nothing but death and suffering, because we, in our own free will, turned away from G/god.

As was said previously- This is *not* in the debate section.

Cease any arguments or infractions will be given.

Thank you.

EDIT: This also applies to those indirectly insulting, or sarcastically insulting.

All Islam needs is a little more liberalisation, just as Christianity has. That's difficult though when Islam's power base is centred in an area of low resources, people turn to faith and many are led to extremism.

There's a fair share of Christian extremism as well, but you're right, in Islam, it is definitely made worse by the low resources and lack of sufficient government intervention.

Also the fact that foreign powers keep messing with their countries, and invading them, and thus driving otherwise moderate people to the extremists from anger and a desire to defend themselves...

Not to mention that the religion itself is reacting against decades of colonialism and cultural pressure. Of COURSE things are going to get messy while they try and sort things out. Christianity had their Reformation go on in the 1500s and more, and that was REALLY messy.

And oh, yes, Christianity has its own extremism. And they can be violent, too - they just don't tend to blow people up. But no one has invaded their countries, so.
