That sounds pretty terrifying. To feel restricted in dreams is a terrible experience, even seeing someone else like that in circumstances which don't seem to make sense.

My best flying dreamwas very brief. Superman style, low and fast over swift moving water. My worst one was that I was soaring above my neighborhood. When I landed, I tried to demonstrate my super powers to my family, I was left standing on a piece of cardboard flapping my arms wildly.
I was very disappointed in my bad luck when I awakened!

She wasasleep and unfortunately there was a water mocassin (a poisonous snake) swimming towards her. I tried to shout, I ttried to warn her, bbut no sound came from my throat. So I reached out and grabbed the viper by its middle. It turned its evil head toward me and in a flash ~ IT STRUCK MY FACE!
At that moment I was instantly awake withmy heart beating a thousand miles a minute AND WITH MY FINGERNAILS POKING ME BETWEEN MY EYES!
It was one of my most vivid dreams I have ever had. NOTES: I had met a woman named Kryle a year or two before. The woman in the millpond I had met the previous summer was NOT wheelchair bound. She felt bound by circumstances though. I guess that is how my brain depicted that.
Ho, this must have been quite a shake-up - to see it, & to wake up this way!
I'd agree with your interpretation (in bold). Also, the fact that she was asleep, in your dream... could it mean something? hmm...

You reminded me of a snake dream I had a few nights ago. I don't have a snake phobia, I dreamed about snakes very few times, and they were wise & teaching me things (one was the Australian Rainbow Snake, & the other the Mayan Plumed Snake, Quetzal-Quattl). But this dream was different:
I entered a sea for a swim & saw a dangerous & very poisonous sea snake swimming towards me. I managed to grab it just behind its head so it wouldn't be able to harm me, & threw it away - but it kept coming back; this repeated several times, then I decided to wake up. The sensation was rather disgusting, that of a repeated frustrated effort, like: "Would you just disappear!?" - & it wouldn't.

When I woke up I pondered on a possible similarity in the real life & decided that the dream reflected the vibes at work: some people dislike me for... having a positive attitude. (Whatever the scenario, I usually say: "Well, at least the sun has risen today - and it's a good thing!" - thus depriving them of an excuse to complain about everything). Now, what was the remedy against vampires? crosses, holy water, stakes? Oh, I know: arrows dipped in garlic juice!
(I've just thought of the anti-troll remedy: just ignore them, don't give them the pleasure of reacting to them, and they will leave you in peace - but that's precisely what I was doing in my dream, just throwing the snake away even trying not to harm it - & it didn't work. I must think of something else )

troubling. you don't even have the pleasure of grabbing your co-workers by the throat and throwing them!
REAL LIFE(not a dream) Brie was sitting in a warm tidal pool in Samoa when a sea snake glided over the top of her thighs. She chose to find a different tidal pool for herself!
REAL LIFE(not a dream)18 years ago, living in Arizona. I tried to get in my truck but there was a rattlesnake curled under the truck by the door. A mohave green, with neurotoxin poison. I kept hitting the thing with a shovel, but I couldn't get a good dtrike because he was UNDER the truck. I bopped him three times and each time his head would come up like a jack-in-the-box toy. I finally had to drag him TOWARDS me to cut his head off! OMG that was terrifying!

That's a little off topic, but makes me sad. Snakes are scared of humans... If you don't startle him, he'd have left you alone

I know sometimes it's necessary if there's a danger, but killing a snake for taking a sleep in some shade makes me sad

... out of the window? now that's a thought! we're on the third floor... it might work!
nah, I decided to keep conversation here in the evil RDA lab Strictly in "work wave". Don't give food to trolls & they'll look for it somewhere else. Altho this very morning I guess I was nasty: when my boss Dr. Grace came in & asked as usual how everything was, I said: "Awful!" She was like this O_O - this was not something she was used to hear from me. I said well yeah, since I always say "(Everything is) Great" - today, i just wanted to be different. Stupid, I know.

it makes me sad, too. Once I had to get a viper out of the swimming pool. It was a beautiful snake & I am sure it was scared witless of me. But I had to kill it cos it would have killed me otherwise, even out of scare if not for any other reason. I told this to the snake though before killing it: "I am sorry to take your life but it's self-defence; good luck to your spirit wherever it goes") so that my conscience would rest a wee bit easier. I don't like to kill anybody & only do it if there is no other way. If the choice is to kill or be killed, like in Ateyo's case with the rattle snake... there's not much choice really, is there.

Okay, now that I give a **** enough to keep on posting, here's some more of that dream I said was over:

How did I get here? I wondered. Why did I take this job? To get away from dirty Earth, running like a coward to the ISV. Only now did I see Pandora as being 100 times more dangerous, and in that way worse. Beautiful but fierce, I died here instantly, and my entire purpose for being here was now gone. I knew the risks, but I came here anyway. The warehouse is like a dungeon, my own personal prison. I never got to see my acquaintences/friends from the science department anymore. But who were they, anyway? I saw them more and more as cowards for letting me go, cowards just like me, watching as I was pulled away, staggering. Though I don't really know what they could've done, it seemed not enough for them to sit by gawking. This depressing period lagged on, and then, very suddenly, the warehouse was buzzing with plans for some sort of war. I didn't understand much about it and couldn't get a straight answer from anyone, and was only instructed to do as I was told. I still had very little perception of what a na'vi actually was. They'd chosen me to take hostage for seemingly no reason (or maybe they could tell how cripply I was), but then there was Eampin, who seemed to detest the use of me for a scapegoat. The next morning, I overheard talk about the scientists using their avatars to fight on the side of the na'vi. This immediately appealed to me, but I wasn't sure why. The experience of death was still fresh in my mind. It happened so easily. I felt fragile, and my stomach flipped. I didn't want to fight at all. I had nothing to fight for, and I barely understood why anyone else did.
Tanks were continuously being brought in and out for loading, so I easily slipped out of the gate in all the chaos.

Moco Loco, I see you posted your Long As ^^^Dream in a different thread? Good idea, it is a story in it's own right not just a random dream. I haven't read it thru though (only the part I had already read here)- I haven't been here on ToS that much lately...

Anyway, back to "more ordinary yet whacky, lol & bizarre dreams":
I had a silly dream about Avatar 2.
A new Na'vi race - maybe on a different moon? - was discovered. Unlike "our" feline-like Omatikaya Na'vi, those were more like... cows. Very robust, with broad chests & shoulders, rather square-ish but attractive in a strange way. They were of an indefinite very dark near-black color & even had little green fluorescent horns on their heads

Jake, it seemed, had passed all the test of this new clan & was going about his last trial. He was standing on a rock, very high, all you could see below were clouds. Several cow-Na'vi - children sat on the rock talking to him. First I thought they wanted to pull a prank on Jake but then I noticed that they genuinly wanted to help; they were explaining him what to do in a rather clear-cut, simple & sincere childish manner.

He seemed to have understood everything, went a short distance back, the kids parted to open the way for him, he took a short & powerful run and... jumped off the rock. And... started flying on his own - without an ikran or anything! - thru the clouds! I thought that was very cool.

Then the dream started to fall apart; the last I saw was a father-like Na'vi figure chiding the kids for giving advices to "the foreigner" without knowing All that the test implied. The children went a bit sulky & one ventured that Jake Did fly, in the end. The "father" said that it was lucky that everything turned out well that time, so he wouldn't scold them anymore - but the teachings are best left to teachers in any case!

I was just an observer, it was a third person dream that almost never happens to me.

Suddenly, the "dream channel" switched to an interview with Sam Worrington who was saying that he loved acting in Avatar 1 & 2 but unfortunately he wouldn't participate in Avatar 3: Will Smith would be our hero instead

I finally had my..... first or second Avatar related dream depending on what you consider to be an Avatar dream last night.

I dreamt that I got to go to the Avatar theme park. That they had a ride similar to the boat ride in the Epcot exhibit "The Land" except it was made up to look like Pandora. That they had big screens (not movie theater sized but multiple large screens) showing Avatar on a loop as well as smaller ones that had several aerial CGI renderings of Pandora with the "Climbing up Iknimaya" playing in the room.

A post-Meetup dream (philosophical):

I was with the bunch of young guys, & some stood to the side criticizing, making stupid comments & mocking everybody but some others were more constructive & positive & wanted 'to make it happen'. I was giving bad looks to the 'bad guys' but later, I was walking with a 'constructive guy' & telling him, that I had been wishing somebody bigger & badder than the 'bad guy' to come & get him, but I realized that even wishing so was messing with the balance: the law of cause & effect, action & reaction had always been working, & the 'bad guy' would get a *reaction* for his *action* - but I shouldn't be adding bad karma (creating a sh** magnet) for myself by desiring bad things even to bad guys!

The 'good guy' said "wow, I never thought about it that way". Then we had to climb some very steep stairs, some steps were missing, & I got on the top first & physically pulled him up across missing steps, I was surprised where I got that strength from. Then the 'bad guy' was climbing too, & I briefly wondered whether I should help him, too, but I thought better and gave a hand to 'the bad guy' & pulled him up, too, & decided not to worry anymore because 'the law of cause & effect enforcement' knew their job.

That's a strange dream.. one of those things you can read so many things into.

I haven't been dreaming much again recently, and it's hard to start

Bump.

I've been having a lot of end of the world dreams lately. Not literally the breaking apart of the planet or anything crazy like that, but governments collapsing. Every time, I've been back in the US and usually in New Orleans towards the beginning. A lot of ToS people have been with me, most of them American but some of them not (and I'm not sure how the others pulled it off). Once we were raiding supermarkets, another time we were racing cars around an empty area I know of, another time we were just walking around in a big group with our pets, those of us who have any. At first, the dreams kind of scared me, but I've become more comfortable with them lately. Apache, you and Wade have been there once or twice

Okay, that sounds great Hopefully I will someday get to meet you and iron jones in person. We went to the link chambers to sleep? Were we humans or avatars?

I had one last night about a lion. Big whoop, I dream about lions pretty regularly, I figure since I like them a lot. Lions in any dream I have also are usually nice and tame, like what would be the midpoint between cat and dog behavior. In this dream, there was a lion that kept appearing in my back yard back in New Orleans, and it was not tame. I'm not sure who saw it first, but eventually, I, my mom, and several of our neighbors had seen it around the area, and it kept coming back to our house. It even ate one of my cats. Still, like some kind of vague continuity in dream thinking, I felt like maybe it wasn't completely wild. One stormy afternoon, I saw the lion pacing around. I went into the backyard and tried to talk to it. It growled at me and seemed angry, or like it was going to attack me. I kept talking to it, and eventually, it spoke to me in a voice that I barely thought sounded human. It said that it wasn't really a lion, but it could be lots of different things. It turned into other animals, then into people. I asked why it ate my cat, and it said that for a while, it forgot it wasn't a real lion (that part kind of reminded me of Brave, if anyone's seen that ), and that it couldn't remember what it was or what it was supposed to be doing here. After that, the thing turned back into a lion and left, and I woke up.
