By what I'm guessing, many will disagree with this theory. However, this theory seems more correct and more believable then many religions I've heard of.

I personally think we have one life; and we have to make the most of it. And if, as some say, we will be stuck in the afterlife for eternity, then shouldn't we bring some good memories with us? After all, life was meant to be lived, not dreaded every second of the day.

Besides, eternal afterlife might not be too bad. No taxes, no pressure, and your special someone will likely be there with you.
And if I'm to believe what I've been taught about heaven, you should have your wishes granted. It's got it's 'oh so good' reputation for a reason.

I really don't, and don't want one. Anything would get boring after enough time, unless it's like Valhalla where everybody actually dies in the end. That's beside the point though because there's nothing because there's nothing to go anywhere, all that happens on death is the brain activity stops.

I like the view Alan Watts has on this. He says that the world is a game and every death is also a beginning, the only thing that changes is that "life goes 'blip'" and something new happens. Life cant be life without death as a zebra is neither a while horse with black stripes nor a black horse with white stripes. Matter cannot be without space in between - A room is not just made of walls, the space enclosed is as important as the walls. So life is a vibration, an oscillation of beeings and non-beeings.

My world view is an animistic one - everything around us is a living part of the large game, Mr Watts talks about. So I dont think, I will have an afterlife in the sense that my ego and memory will sit there for eternity and ponder about things. All that I am is part of the memory of the universe and all that I am will continue to be in the future, but there will be no ego, no memory. All that I am now will forget that it was me beeing here and now, but that does not matter. Its "the circle of life", just that the circle is more like these pictures of strings int he string thory - changing all the time, vibrating, echoeing and playing.

I like this... it's like the "All energy is only borrowed, one day you have to give it back", and I agree.

What I think is most important though is that someone lives in a way as long as they are remembered... their personality, their accomplishments, their friendships, their likes and dislikes... If those are remembered, it preserves a part of what that person was.

Indeed it is. I recommend an old 6-part lecture from "Alan Watts", its called "The Joker" and I found it really good and funny. Basically it is about life and death and the eternal oscillation and about death not beeing something grim, but part of the game. Probably there are newer works that convey the same, but I like the british english and the humour in that lecture. I dont think its on youtube, but you can find it in the internet as a torrent or such. Dont ask me if it has a (c) though - I'd rather think not, but who knows.
I find it more interesting to put this in my mp3 player than music at times.

Yeah - that is basically the "tree of souls" message. This is what made this in Avatar so intriguing and people long for such a world. In that world, these things are never forgotten. On Earth - they eventually will be, but I think it is important not to fear that. It does not matter - whatever one did, one influenced the future and whatever one is is and was and will be part of the whole "game". To strive to be famous so ones deeds will be remembered a longer time is not really the goal. For once, even those will be forgotten some years later than others - and more importantly to strive for that will inevitably require a will to be "better than others", natually diminishing their position in the world. I dont think this makes sense - it may be a a game you want to play, but it is not the goal.

Even if humans ever do reach Pandora (which I don't want to happen if it means everyone as they are today), it will be long after I'm dead with the stagnation of development of space exploration.
