I post in a politics forum and one of the currently active threads there is titled 'pyf ethnicity/ which ethnicity would you want to be'. One of the first replies is 'na'vi and anyone who says otherwise is a liar '
I have to agree!

Knowing what I know about our world....I'd go. The question you should ask, is once you got there, would you want to stay forever? I like to think I would choose to stay, whether or not I was Human or Na'vi. I love to explore and travel and it would be a chance for a new life (aka fresh start). Yep, I'd go and stay.

That is an interesting question. Would you stay. And it is not a simple one as one might think. One would think "hell yeah" at first glance. And I would think so, too. But One cannot be sure - and thats the point - that question cant be answered properly.
I read about many people who took a route like it on Earth. Started to live in a Tipi in the woods, in a Log hut in the forest or in hippie communes. (Ok, that is not Pandora but it is also getting away from this society, getting into a place of nature). Quite a few came back abeter some years, speaking highly of these years but something brought them back. I dont know what yet - some probably got bored, many tried to do this alone and missed company and community after a while, others may have felt compelled to tell and teach others about this. So going to Pandora - it all depends on what life there will be for one person. If you enjoy the company of a tribe, you wont miss community. If you have enough new things to explore, you will not get bored. But maybe if all is great and someone tells you what is going on back home, you may feel compelled to act, to tell the people there and teach them about other ways of living. Thats just a thought - maybe you would just forget about all that is left behind and think that whatever you do will not change the outcome for Earth anyways and I guess it really is hard to do such a thing. To change the minds of people is downright impossible if they are not already considering the change. Except maybe if you have solid proof, a strong symbol or a looot of charisma ![]() This fan story tells something about that desire: Avatar: Seeds of Life, Part 1 – GNOLLS.ORG - its quite good as it shows the two ways...

I have way too much going on in this world to give it all up. So I would have to say no. Not even if it meant I could meet up with Neytiri.

It is interesting that Cameron got his idea about Pandora and Avatar also sometime in the 90ties. The looks of the Na´vi is said to be inspired by a dream his mother had: Quote:
Maybe both you, Camerons mother and Cameron himself connected to some vision, or archetype that in some way was in the air at that time. |

I wonder if the female leader of the Ikran people of the Eastern sea (the one with the red and white body and face paint) is taken?

Yeah, I'd definitely mate with her
- plus she's a clan leader. There are many other Na'vi to choose from though... Although Neytiri would obviously be my first choice, her being unavailable would not deter me for a second.
