Let's hope you're right Aaron. If character development is the main goal of the second movie I will be... pleased.

Maybe we can learn more about Neytiri's past.

I think it would be nice to learn about more about almost any character's past, really. But more on Neytiri and Grace would be great. I really liked the CE scene where Grace talks about the incident at her school; it seemed to add a lot to both her own and Neytiri's character.

That scene with Grace was really sad
![]() I'd like to see her with the Omatikaya before that...

First time I saw that scene I lost it at "Sa'nok".

I wouldn't mind some flashbacks to times before the first movie, but I do hope things generally proceed from the point where the first movie left off, or else just a few years after. And, based on what JC has said about the plot arc and whatnot, I expect that's the direction he's going.
A young Neytiri, hmmm... Could be worth the cuteness factor, I guess. But her adult, Jake-loving version is so much more tangible.Mainly we need to figure out how Norm and some Ikran Clan tsahik-to-be end up together.

Well, he lost his avatar and his girl in the first movie, so he's got a lot of catching up to do!
![]() But seriously: He's one of the few remaining humans on Pandora that we have any knowledge of or connection to, so I hope that gets taken advantage of. As much as I love the Na'vi, I think the movie would be missing something without a recognizable human factor. |

Agreed, I hope the "alien" dynamic is not lost.
The main reason his other sequels were better by some opinion is because he did them Alien and Terminator were by other people. That just shows his talent at adapting to other people's stories for sure. He hasn't done his own sequel before though. At the very least, it'll be redundant in this forum to say, I'm interested to see it

So he has, in fact done his own sequel at least once.

And, well... I liked Aliens a lot, but I guess I'm one of the weirdos who liked Alien (1) better. Don't get me wrong; JC did as much with a sequel as anybody could be expected to, but Ridley Scott did an insanely good job of character development in that first film, and the eeriness was just unbeatable.
Then again, I'm also one of the weirdos who really liked Star Trek: The Motion Picture and who thought Star Trek III was crap, so...
