Sigourney Weaver will officially be in Avatar 2
Ever since Avatar came out, Sigourney hinted that she might be back on Avatar 2 & 3. She never really answered the question directly preferring to keep it vague as to not spoil anything as per JC's request, no doubt.
Well, she just now confirmed she'll be back: Don’t worry, I will be back. Jim [Cameron] says no one ever dies in science fiction. He’s told me the stories for the next two movies and I have to say that they’re absolutely wonderful and there’s a real treat in store. Now we just have to make them. I'm so glad Grace will be there in some form or other for at least Avatar 2. For the whole article (including some tidbits on Ghostbusters 3) click here. Trudy never linked to the network, so her memories weren't preserved - the only real way for her to come back if if she somehow escaped before being shot down, which is just about impossible. On the other hand, Grace's memory is now part of a sentient neural network, in addition to their presence potentially meaning they could be returned to her avatar.
