Yeah, with their imagineering department, I think Disney has the potential to do a really spectacular job and blow all our pants off. Although mine will already be off because I'll be dressed as a Na'vi lawlz. But anyway, like misstammie said, with James and Jon at the helm I am sure they're not going to let it be done half ass. Plus, if James don't like something, he will NOT hesitate to make it known. I still remember that story about the rocks that Laz told at the June Seattle meet up. I'm sure James will have the final say about stuff. It's his movie and vision after all.

(Just out of curiosity, can someone tell this guy who wasn't at the meetup that story about the rocks?)

At the June meet up there was a panel of actors featuring Laz Alonzo and he told us about a time when Cameron requested some rocks from one of his set designers and when the set designer returned with some rocks Cameron said "no these don't work, I need something else" and the set designer asked why and Laz was expecting Cameron to blow up in rage at being questioned, but instead Cameron took the time to explain exactly why he needed different rocks.

May that go to show everyone that Cameron doesn't let anything slip. He knows exactly what he wants right down to the rocks.

Well if some of us would be bothered by the possibility of everything not living up to our ideal standards I suppose we'd better not meet up there. I'm just happy to have more Avatar stuff. If it doesn't live up to my expectations, I can laugh at it. Avatar should be for all types of fans, even children, IMO. All the kids I know love Avatar.
I feel like disney would be one of the only institutions which could come near creating a pandora area as elaborate as we'd like it. If disney can't do it, I feel no one else is likely to, and for that reason, I'm glad it's being done.

Not counting nature, of course.

Though I hope Disney won't put in too many songs.

Perhaps not, but Disney are still very different in format. Their things exist to sell merchandise as their means to profit. Pa'li Makto is right if they filled it with songs too (especially, one about the marines or something?).
Disney WILL try to make it 'child-friendly'. I really hope that won't affect the sequels, but it might well if they want to incorporate things from those later.

Default AVATAR Coming To Disney Parks

I'd be worried if it was going into the normal Disney portion, but having the land in Animal Kingdom I think will make the difference. It's a whole separate park location you have to drive to here in FL. That place is fantastic about conservation and watching them teach the kids about saving the planet while on a safari ride really was awesome to me. There probably will be parts that are commercial and overdone but I think it's a great opportunity for parents to use such a fun place as a teaching tool. I don't think it will be too RDA based because it won't fit in with the vibe of the park at all. There might be a cafe with RDA mugs or Quaritch as the bad monster on a ride but I can't ever see him waving in a parade at that park. Besides, Cameron is so detailed I think it will be really visually amazing. I really would love a Toruk rollercoaster though. Might as well have a little fun.
