After assuming the government of the country in 1994, Kimg Jong-Il died of myocardial infarction when he was in his train, in a "field guidance" according to BBC
Time to take action on North Korea, me thinks.

North Korean Spring!!! Really, however, NK is a very special case, given that most people were thought that his leader is a deity, to challenge what they believe is going to be incredibly difficult and even more difficult to change it. It would be fantastic if there's a genuine rebel movement inside; that would make things a bit more easy for intervention, like what happened in Libya. But there's controversy regarding my thoughts.

If the people were ignorant enough to believe that their leader was a deity, then they can cover it up with any manner of nonsense to keep up the charade. Then again the thing with human conditioning is kind of nasty, and the way you can make people believe and do anything if you just repeat it enough times when they are young and susceptible.

I wouldn't be so quick to call them ignorant. Most of them didn't have nearly the opportunity and resources we do for learning about things in general.

Moco Loco is right, North Korea is, basically, an island. Everything is censured by the government and to make the censure more effective, if someone there decides to think different, then that someone will be immediately jailed or executed. I think these reflects the state of repression North Koreans are subject to:

Maybe not an invasion, but groups like the CIA/MI6/Mossad stirring up trouble would be perfect. This is going to be the best time to try and spark a revolution.

It all depends on what happens... There's the chance of a war if his son decides he has something to prove, or conversely, there could be a coup if others decide he isn't up to running the country. It's likely things are going to change, although for the better or worse is not yet known...

And war would be rather distressing, both for the population of Seoul and for the rest of NK. They technically do have nukes, but it would be suicide to use them on anything, since (I believe) there is a US Navy battlegroup wandering around the sea just south of South Korea, and they will be supporting SK.

Good riddance to bad trash. The future of NK will indeed be interesting. There's definitely more of a vacuum in the government than NK is admitting. My prediction: expect a coup.
