A few weeks back I bought a couple of movies on dvd or on dvd and blu-ray (separately, not as a pack). The 2002 Count of Monte Cristo is among them.

Terminator Genisys. Other than Arnold, I don't have a lot of good things to say. Still baffled that James Cameron endorsed that film.

Inside Out on the other hand is a great film. Recommend it.

I distinctly remember, but can't find a source for, him saying that "In sci-fi, anything can happen." This apparently includes things that don't make internal sense.

Insurgent, on Blu-ray. saw it in the theater, looks better on disc. wow, they went completely away from the book. hope they change that god-awful ending to Allegiant too.

The Fault In Our Stars, Little Infinities Extended Cut, on Blu-ray. one of the most beautiful, heart-breaking, uplifting, sad, thought-provoking, superbly-acted, and all-around great films i have ever seen. i can't say enough good things about this film, book was good, but the film gives it true meaning. two thumbs way up!!

"Little Monsters". I love this movie. It's pretty much the perfect horror for kids. I remember back watching it back when I was 6/7 years old and loving it. It has so much heart and soul in it.

Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, on blu-ray. a hugely satisfying and rousing finale to the series, and stayed pretty true to the books. two thumbs way up!

I rented it a few times back in the day. I think it's part of why I'm so weird today.

Just going to throw this out there. If you ever happen to be watching Conan O'Brien and Paul Rudd is his guest.... change the channel immediately.

Divergent Series: Allegiant (2016), on blu-ray. Neither Insurgent nor Allegiant have followed the source book material, which is a very good thing in the case of Allegiant. i loved the first two books, Divergent and Insurgent, while the third, Allegiant, was an atrocious mess and totally destroyed my opinion of the author. note to all authors....please do NOT let your religious views/opinions get into your work, especially if you convert to some theological claptrap after writing two great books of a trilogy and the third book is so far off the reservation BECAUSE of said religious experience.

the Divergent film was a great film adaptation, but sadly Insurgent veered quite a ways off the great source material, however the Allegiant film was pretty damn good in it's own right with new ideas and plot, and worlds removed from the horrible and pretty hated by fans source book. unfortunately, it's a part 1 sequel of 2, and not well received by the critics and revolting media talking-heads, and fan reaction was mixed. i liked it, but i hope the part 2 called Ascendent, goes in new directions, and doesn't have that horrible ending.

only Shakespeare can get away with killing the protaganist. 'nuff said.
