Six Degrees of Separation... Anyone who's mind has the slightest trace of intellectuality should watch this film.
I know Zenit (if he hasn't seen it) would totally love this film start to finish. EDIT: Aaand just finished Goblet of Fire! Problem is, though, I probably won't be getting the soundtrack since Doyle's music is so God-awful boring!

Inception, actually really enjoyed it, and definitely gets one thinking "what is reality, do we really know, what is the dream and what is real, and if reality is all just a dream, who is the dreamer of the dream we are in?"

Last night were 'Order of the Phoenix' and 'Half-Blood Prince' back-to-back. And I just have to give a tiny review of what I just saw (because making a thread about Harry Potter would involve talking about the other films/books in-depth as well).
I've just come back from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. This is coming from a non-book-reader. I've never touched one of Rowling's novels. I only know the story by the films (and love them). I completely isolated myself from any spoilers for Deathly Hallows except seeing the trailer once (forced to in a theater preview). And after seeing the film, I'm just... I don't know. Sure, I was blown away, but the mere scope of things was beyond anything (coming from a person who had no idea what would happen and never saw any spoilers). This movie isn't like the other Potter films. In fact, I don't even know why it isn't rated R. This is not for little kids. The subject matter surrounding death, decay, sex, and peril was like 250% over what was in the other 6 films combined. I've had to spend a lot of quiet time just to reflect on what I just saw. In fact, I have absolutely no care for Avatar right now. Avatar is like a distant 2nd in my mind. This didn't happen when I saw Alice in Wonderland, or Inception, or any other film this year. Avatar remains a superior film to me, but for now, I really couldn't care less about it. Deathly Hallows part 1 was a marvel. Just had to write that. |

The rating is probably lower because of the previous films.
I haven't seen it yet, won't bother at the cinema, but maybe I will when it's out elsewhere. I do prefer the books though, the films so far have missing a lot of plot detail - I guess that's why this one is split into 2, otherwise it would make no sense (and to cash in of course since it's the last one... )Rowling did say that the mood of the books would get more adult as the intended audience did, I mean, the first book was something like 10 years ago now. As for film, still Avatar Collector's Edition, again
