I just saw the Eagle. It had lots of beautiful scenery and I liked the music but the story left much to be desired . There was no heart in it and the main character lacked personality. Also, I think I am getting tired of shaky cam fight scenes. I like to see what is going on.

I think shaky-cam fight scenes are done to make the viewer perceive a lot of action. I've seen steady-cam crew views of fight scenes in the Bourne series (special features), and without those shaky movements you get a very staged-looking, slow-moving fight scene that doesn't seem realistic at all. So in a way, shaky-cams are like eye cheaters.

The regular theaters got rid of 'em a while back, yes. I went to the dollar theater (discount theaters get what newer theaters can't afford to keep).

The Motorcycle Diaries. Really great, slow-paced film, and very well made. The director (Walter Salles) is completing his adaptation of On The Road currently; now I know that movie should be excellent.

I've just come home from watching 'Paul'.
Absolutely hilarious!
I love anything Simon Pegg/Nick Frost, so this was an automatic win in my book :3

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. I thought it was pretty good.

Metropolis (animé remake). I remember seeing this movie when I was younger and I've already seen the (a LOT) older movie of the original Metropolis, so I decided to see if this one lives up to the original.

Great movie.

I've seen two movies in the theaters recently.

On Sunday I saw The Eagle, and just today I saw Sanctum in IMAX 3D.

The Eagle was very good, I enjoyed it. Sanctum was fantastic, I really enjoyed it.

Just saw "Dorian Gray"... Quite an interesting piece that left me incredibly intrigued. The sex was a tad bit much, but the storyline made up for it, as well as the acting.
