That's the thing though. You were probably watching it as a movie (at least, that's what I'm sensing from what you wrote), and you were looking for what was going to happen (also the same reason why many people didn't like Avatar). I was watching it as an experience; I tried to put myself into the place of the characters. And I disagree; much happened.
But still, I stand corrected about my assertion on gore/cheap thrill horror-goers. You're obviously not one.

Yeah I guess it's just how you position yourself in the movie experience (in Avatar I had no choice, I was completely and utterly immersed). I was watching this from a critical point of view, I had heard good and bad things (one good thing I heard that it was a movie 'that scared Steven Spielberg' - not sure how that gave me any perspective on how scary it would be) so I was pretty distant from immersion.
I guess if I'd have had a better experience if I never knew anything of the movie beforehand.

Yes!
 Watch Quadrophenia again! Been on the verge of doing that myself, as I've been listening to all my old mod tunes again...But yeah, Food Inc. is quite a film, and not afraid to be a little disturbing. Definitely makes me more motivated to go shop at the local farmer's market next time.

Just finished Pan's Labyrinth (El laberinto del fauno). More violent than what I was expecting, but wow...easily one of the best films I've seen lately. I was actually tearing up a little bit.

American Psycho,
American Beauty and Scott Pilgrim. Oh and Paul. I saw it in the cinema yesterday and I thought it was great. Hilarious with adequate and humerous references to every major Sci-Fi film from the last 50 years. Worth paying to see!
