More of a Botanical reference really, but anything that is capable of changing color I suppose, especially to blue

Yes, that is indeed what versicolor means. Avicularia versicolor is a tarantula that changes the color of the hairs on its body starting with the first molt into the first subadult instar.

I have a couple of them, and the change is quite striking; I was hoping that a fellow spider enthusiast had found his way here.

Sorry to disapoint but nevertheless, a fascinating process and worth a read-up on as I'm interested in all aspects of nature. You sound like you have a good knowledge of Arachnology?

I can, at least, claim to know someone else who is also a 'T' owner. My brother-in-law who lives in Queensland, Australia has a Chilean Rose, I think, at least he did when I was there last. I'll check. He also has a pygmy python which is probably native over there. Snakes and spiders all over the place there


*No, he no longer has his T, died of old age apparently but he's keen to get another. I didn't know how old it was, his dad had already owned it for 10 years but they wern't certain of it's age to begin with.
