That's just it, the crowds aren't dropping away like it does with most movies, a re-release with extra footage will probably draw the crowd who want to see the extra footage plus the crowd who just want to experience it in 3D again. Who knows where the total Gross for Avatar will end up, could see 4 Billion, let alone 3 billion world wide.
