I agree with most people here. After I saw Avatar, I just lost interest in other things that I used to be interested in. I stopped watching most of the TV shows I used to watch for one thing.
My friend and I were going to see Avatar, but long story short, she brought her boyfriend along and he gets motion sickness and we ended up seeing Sherlock Holmes instead. I guess it was a good movie, but I was too disappointed that I didn't see Avatar that I couldn't really get into it. Everytime I go to a theater, I feel weird if I don't see Avatar now :/ I'm sure that feeling will go away, as I'm going to go see Clash of the Titans when it comes out. But, you're clearly not alone

LOL. I have gone to see Alice in Wonderland and H2Tame Your Dragon since I have watched Avatar but since it is out of my theatre around here, I don't feel like I have "cheated" on it.

Yea same here. I got to the theater before my friend did who asked if I wanted to go (He's a great guy, I couldn't turn him down) and he even offered to pay for my ticket but I bought it because I knew it would end up like this. I stood outside the theater waiting for my friend just staring at the showtimes; Avatar. That word strikes the perfect chords in my heart and soul... it seemed blasphemous to be at the theater without seeing that movie. It didn't feel right sitting in that seat in that room and something else up on the screen

I still haven't seen any new films since Avatar. There's nothing on that I want to see (I only ever go to the cinema very rarely, Avatar excepted), and if I did, I would be too conscious of the fact that I would be wasting money I could be spending on Avatar.

Thats how I felt as well. Nothing can be compared to Avatar, and if it wasn't for my friends I wouldn't have seen any other movie

LOL that is the same reason I went to other movies, friends dont like Avatar like I do so usually I go alone (which I actually like) but they insisted on going to something else.

Avatar just set the bar so high and the only move to top it will be Avatar 2

Same here. My family as well. I tried to convince them to see Avatar again this last Sunday and they were like,"...No, you just saw it." lol.

Very true! But, I'm so bummed, since Avatar 2 won't be out for like 4 years at the least (right?). That's so far away! I mean, I don't want it to be rushed, but...I'm greedy lol. :p

Thats what my friends said! They were like didnt you see it last night? well yeah but lets go again

Yeah I doubt we will even hear much of anything for atleast a good 3 years. I am the same way, I want the sequel NOW but I want him to take his time and make it just as amazing! This is not good for my addiction

Seeing it alone for me is the absolute best way to see it. I'm not sure why, which is why it's going to be hard to watch Avatar at home :/ I even told my friend who asked what I'm doing Friday and I replied "seeing Avatar in IMAX"
and he said "can I see it with you?"
"... Um, yea I guess, do you know, um, if you could though, sit, like, somewhere else?"
"Uh, yea sure, I guess"

It was a pretty funny conversation.

I know 4 years does seem like a long time, just thinking where I'll be at in life and all, graduated from college, moved into an apartment, have a good paying job...

I agree, seeing it alone is by far better. You don't need to hide your reactions like if you were seeing it with people who do not See (would be impossible for me anyway) and you know nobody's going to try to talk to you.

Exactly! Alone is the absolute best way to view the movie! No distractions!

I dont have to have someone staring at me while I am like this for 3 hours O.O

I much prefer going alone. Some of the people who know me, family included, are already a little bit worried about my Avatar obsession. If they saw what it does to me emotionally, being a pretty reserved person normally, they would probably want to go into therapy or something

Hahaha! And that's why I keep my obsession secret except for one friend who knows I really like it but not to what extent

It's probably the same with my family. They haven't seen Avatar yet, I'm going to try to make them watch it... I'll have to be very careful when I do to control my reactions...
