A sad day for movie lovers. As for myself, I was always looking for Ebert's review of a film to see if we share the same sentiment.
On that note, I was delighted when in December 2009 he wrote his Avatar review: Roger Ebert Avatar Review A solid 4 stars. RIP * * * |

I can't say I was ever a fan of his. But in truth, that is due to a couple of factors.
A. Only in the past few years have I started to listen to specific movie critics (as opposed to movie critics as a whole a la rotten tomatoes or metacritic). B. Many of the reviews of his that I have seen of his are ones that I would vehemently disagree with such as his reviews of Predator & Minority Report (via the Confused Matthew video). Just the same, he is one of the most famous movie critics of all time and a tremendous loss for Hollywood. R.I.P. |

As Crickett said, I was never a fan of him either, but still a sad moment

I remember being pretty surprised that he liked Avatar. I'd hoped he'd get to review The Hobbit, was curious to see that

Irayo, Jachyra, for posting the link to Ebert's Avatar review -- I had never read it before. It's great that he loved Avatar so much (and it's funny what he said about the Na'vi language).
RIP Roger Ebert...he was one of the best movie critics ever.
