greetings from Portland, Oregon, flew in about two hours ago, staying at an extended stay inn for a month and a half, here on a business trip.

56 degrees F, slightly windy, overcast, wet, raining since i got here. 10 day extended forecast shows rain 8 out of the 10 days. might as well be in Seattle. *sighs*

I hope the stay in the northwest treats you well ma Ja'k, here it has been mostly clear and mild the past couple of days, tomorrow is supposed to be a bit warmer with a southwest wind gusting to near 40 mph at times

Here it was mostly sunny with a strong south wind today, with blowing maple tree seeds spinning around everywhere.

i just returned after a month in Bremerton, Wa, three months in Portland, Or, and the last several weeks visiting family in Iowa, Peoria, Illinois, and Mansfield, Ohio, after missing the 4th of July holiday because of work, and as soon as i have returned to my house in Virginia, it is all rainy and overcast for two days now, ugh. i need sunshine!

Here we have had two weeks of less than 90F weather which is awesome for this time of year, sadly though the humidity has come back, in July we had a few days where the dew point was 81F or so and one day the heat index hit 119F that was nasty. Right now my city is gearing up for a total eclipse of the sun that will happen at 1:07 pm next Monday here, they are expecting up to 500,000 visitors to visit here this weekend and early next week because of it, so they are saying to be prepared for traffic and internet/cell phone issues. Still though its truly I once in a few lifetimes thing to have the path of totality cross your spot on the Earth, and I am looking forward to it, I asked for the day off work last December. I hope the sky is clear, as of right now that part is still undecided lol.

A bit too warm and depressingly sunny, but not so bad I can complain. IDK what I expected when I moved to San Jose.

Well we were one of the five percent of the area of totality that was cloud covered duing the event, so we really didn't get to see much, but it did get dark as night for over two minutes which was neat to experience at 1:07pm and the darkness descended fast, even with the cloud cover you could see it coming in. Still though, that was kind of sad in th big scheme of things. I hope the folks in Texas and Louisiana can dry out as fast as possible, I cant imagine getting a years worth of rain in 3 or 4 days, just insane. They are going to have a long road to recovery down there. As for here today the weather is nice, mostly clear, but with alot of haze in the sky from numerous wildfires in the west US and Canada which is making the sky almost seem like there is a thin overcast.

it has been dreary overcast and raining off and on all day, so i cleaned out the garage and started unpacking some boxes i still haven't gotten to because of business travel most of the year so far, a month in Pensacola, FL, three months in Portland, OR, and a month in Charleston SC. i want to stay home dammit, even in the rain!
