My actual VISION isn't that bad - I can see perfectly fine without glasses, just reading gives me a migraine if I don't use them. And it hit when I was in year two/grade two. Not really the fault of reading at that stage, although subsequent education hasn't helped.

She looks like Annie at that age. I can just hear those ear-wrenching lyrics exuding from the screen...

Tomorrow! Tomorrow!!!

Cute, but conjuring up annoying memories of a very-much-hated-by-me musical.

You get used to that very quickly, the only thing you have to do is learn to suppress the blink reflex. Once that's done, it's really quite easy, and I can usually forget I have them in. I'd probably say it was weird for the first few weeks, but not as weird as when I first started wearing glasses about a week beforehand, when suddenly everything was clearer
Fair enough with looks though, I just prefer myself without them

Monthly here.

Also, slightly back on topic , as for Ashen Key's picture, kind of resembles my sisters at that age

Haha! It may sound a bit bizarre, but it has opened so many doors for me I no longer have to hold on to my glasses when I reach down to pick up the badminton ball, I no longer need to turn my head if I want to see something, my good vision follow me wherever i turn, and I don't have to worry about any glasses falling off and breaking if I do too rapid movement.

IMO the positive aspects really overcome the negative ones (which are few to begin with.)

True on all counts... but you always have to worry about removing them before going to sleep, which takes a lot more time than taking glasses off does. They also prevent one from rubbing ichy eyes, have to be replaced every few months (more money spent), and can be more easily lost than glasses. Plus, rapid movement with glasses just depends on what type of glasses you have. Mine have D-silicone nose pads, which means I can have my head spin as fast as Demon-Regan from The Exorcist and they won't fall off.

EDIT: Omg!! It's my 3,100th post!!!

Meh, I haven't had any significant eye itching for months. True, it takes longer to take on and off, but it's so easily done now compared to how hard it was at the start, it's no problem. Easily lost? hmm... sure, if you're not being careful and have them well organized My glasses didn't have D-silicone nose pads then I assume.

I have this assumption in my mind that "contacts can get lost easily" because I've seen it so many times in movies where the words "contact lens" are mentioned at all.
