Default How to become one of the People

No, you're not going to be 10 feet tall or get a tail and blue skin; but you can still become part of the People inside. What matters actually is not the physic, but rather the attitude.
  • Be brave: the Na'vi are fearless about jumping off giant trees and facing large predators; why wouldn't you be capable of facing your problems? Take a deep look at them, join some courage and run, go for the solution. Don't be afraid of trying new things or facing new situations.
  • A person for the People: this sentences summarizes a generous attitude. Care about the rest before thinking of yourself, notice what the other needs and how they feel. A Na'vi without the clan is nothing but food for the Thanators.
  • Respect your surroundings, their thoughts, belongings and the environment; and you will be returned the same treat. Once you've done so you might take it to the next level: love.
  • Be honest: have a plain and lie-free relationship with your surroundings, but most importantly with yourself. Don't hide what you feel or think, don't force yourself to wear masks and simply, be yourself.
  • Enjoy the little things: "Richer and happier is not who has more but who needs less". A walk at sunset, a meal with the ones you love, listen to some music, take a nap, breathe deeply,... The world is full of these.
  • Stay active: don't stare at the PC all day long. There's a whole world out there: loads of trees to climb, places where to run free and people to meet. Join a volunteer group, take care of your relatives, read and inform yourself,...
  • Have fun and enjoy what you do.
Getting over the difficult situations with this mentality will test you out; and could be taken as a constant rite of passage where to prove yourself your strength and courage.

And that's pretty much it.

very good list Zenit. I would also add loving others more and accepting them, even when they go wrong. Love everything around you and seek to find connections with others, even with those that are different .

Wonderfully said by both Zenit and Rapunzel.

For me, two words I have tried to live my life by are Strength and Honor. Those words are tattoed on my leg and in my heart. I can see those two words in all the ladies suggestions. With the addition of what my sig is and has been for many years.
WHAT WE DO IN LIFE ECHOES IN ETERNITY, tells me that living my life as a good person does make a difference to those whose lives I touch and they make me a better person.
I want to thank everyone here for touching each others lives and making them better.

Too add to Rapunzel's post:

Acceptance, forgiveness, redemption. If you can't forgive at least accept. It's not only about forgiving others, because it's really about forgiving yourself. In my experience we are all flawed beings to one degree or another. If you can't forgive you will be alone.

One more thing for your list is seeking serenity, tranquility, and peace. It has taken me a good part of a lifetime, but I am there now. Well, most of the time anyway. There are times where being serene is not the best way to deal with intense issues. When my work get stressful and downright crazy I can stop for a moment and think myself into a calm state. I guess it's sort of a quick meditation. It servers me well.

Wow great list, and everyone else has amazing ones too... I call myself a Na'vi because I try to be like them, the attitude and what's inside, what I try to express... Good job with the list

I've updated it, including in some way rapunzel's and txen's contributions. Thanks both.

And also thanks to the people for the positive replies

Agreed with every word...

...But I found myself thinking after reading, "Those are all the qualities that perfectly describe Forrest Gump."

Just as rapunzel says, that's something that won't happen overnight; it's all about going slowly yet in good time. If it wasn't difficult we wouldn't value them the same, though.

At least try and do your best, that's better than nothing.

And I warned you this kind of goals will try you out. Show what you're made of, and instead of talking about the failure fix it.

Help other people to See...

Find real love, someone who Sees you rather than something short term.
