Default just think...

About this time next week, most of us will have picked up the dvd or blu-ray and will be enjoying Avatar at home just a few days left to go...

I already have planned to begin watching it at 6PM local time. That's about 5 minutes from now, a week from today

I had a preorder for release date delivery of the bluray, but I canceled it. Why? Well I preordered an autographed copy instead, but it's being shipped via UPS ground.

I'm probably going to have to wake up early and go to pick it up before work because I won't have time during the rest of the day... and hopefully I'm getting a Blue-Ray player this weekend! I wish I was moved out with a biiiiiigggggg TV

Indeed. We should get together, buy an island, and set ourselves up with a dedicated IMAX theatre.

While I'm dreaming, can I have an ikran?

Come on now guys.

Avatar will still be Avatar at home. In fact, it may be a better for us because we can watch it within the comfort of our homes and rooms. We can watch it whenever we want and we can let our emotions run free and cry all we need to.

For those of you who get distractions while watching movies, I feel your pain.

The nice thing about watching in, say, an IMAX theatre, is that the lights are down for the duration of the film and the sound is overpowering, so you can cry discreetly and not have to worry about being noticed. At home, someone can come in the room and turn on the light (say, to find a book they left in your room) and notice you, and then things get interesting... Housemates may also cause problems in general ("what, you're watching that movie again?!"). That said, though, if you live on your own, Avatar must be fantastic at home.

Same here, gotta get it before my college class starts. If any stores nearby will do a midnight release I'll get it then.

True, no inconsiderate movie-goers to bother us

That is one of the things that first came to mind when I found out I can watch Avatar at home. What will my family think when they find out I have such a strong reaction to "just a movie"? I'm not the type of person who would usually cry. Not only that, but distractions from family members are another thing that worry me.

I'll probably lock the door to the room when I watch Avatar... and turn the volume way up...
