I think this is very true...

When I first watched Avatar, my initial thoughts of Neytiri were 'hmm, she's hot', which I've certainly thought about various characters in films, games, books, etc, before. I didn't even think of it again, and by the end, I had completely fallen in love with her.

Hmmmm...lot of interesting discussion in this thread. I myself am not "in love" with Neytiri. As HNM mentioned above, while watching it I did think "oh she is hot" but that was honestly about it. Her personality is great, sure, but I know a bunch of girls who have great personalities. Maybe I am just lucky. But I just am not as into her as a bunch of people here.

And this doesn't mean I think its wrong at all. I can't count how many times as a kid I would "fall" for a movie, game, or book character. It just guy nature lol. We like the exotic, we like the things we can't have tbh. And that's fine. As I said, I think Neytiri is beautiful, but I think its because Zoe Saldana is gorgeous lol.
