I just wish you could see via another video camera when the octopus swims off with the camera for three whole minutes

Octopusses are smart, so much so that if we had not become the dominant species of this planet over time they would have. Maybe in other worlds there tribes of sentient octopusses. Heck the Vorlons in B5 where basically squids.
