Post Shamanism in our times

Who's inspired by this article?

I think it would be amazing to do a course and get out there and learn from the land and other people and then spread that knowledge to others.

It does sound interesting - only it is a good idea to find out if a shaman is really good, or a trickster, before going for a course. This stuff they deal with is so subtle, it's really easy for an unexperienced person to mess it up - therefore it is very important you're in good hands.

The lady who wrote this book vvv is my compatriot she is a professional psychiatrist whose life brought her to Siberian shamans in Altai mountains, & she learned traditional healing methods from Umai - a wise shaman woman from there. Now I would Love to learn from her - iif only I had the chance!
Entering the Circle by Olga Kharitidi (I love the face on the front cover).

Wow how cool is that!
Thanks for the interesting book recommendation Apache.
That is a good point you came up with about finding out if the Shaman are the real deal or not. It might be useful to do a shaman course through a college or something first.
Siberia? Wow, your compatriot must have had a very unique experience with the people there.

check out this book Pa'li - only I warn you, it may cause you very... special dreams
Yeah, having been born in Siberia does something to people, I can assure you!

I like Olga cos she is a professional doctor of medicine, with proper studies, career, etc. - & yet she was open enough to learn something different, new for her - but as old as the world, in fact. My oh my where that way of knowledge took her...
(*in whisper: she now has a clinic in California!*)

I am so going there if I ever go to the US.

That's the way it should be, otherwise we would all be walking around with full cups as Moat says. Wow being born in Siberia would be very interesting, the weather would be so cold though. I'd love to read that book when I have the time to pick it up. The dreams could be an exciting add on.

I was born in (southern) Siberia it's 35ºC below 0 in winter and 35ºC above 0 in summer. With this 70ºC swing, it's... fun!
Like they say, "there is no such a thing as bad weather - but there is such a thing as unsuitable clothes". Let me know if/when you wanna go there for vacations - or your knowledge quest. I might be able to give you some tips on how to survive...
