We did not loose to Japan. We beat ourselves. We should have won that game but we killed ourselves. I am happy for Japan though.

Yes it does, Japan shouldn't have been in this game at all, japan had under 10 shots while the US had around 27. The only reason Japan scored the first goal was because the 2 American defenders Rampone and whoever else made a mistake I wouldn't even make (and im in high school). And the second goal, yes it was a nice header, but if not for the ball deflecting off Abby Wambach's quad after a failed clear attempt, Hope Solo would have easily stopped it. Now on penalty kicks 2 of the USA girls completely missed the goal. I can do better than that. So all in all Japan won this game because of US errors and stupid childish mistakes. They did not beat us.

That's what people said about the New Orleans Saints winning the superbowl last year, that all the other teams "let us win". I hate it when people said that. If we screwed up, it still means Japan won.

Your not understanding the difference between beat, and won. They did not outplay us as they did Germany or Sweden. They just came out on top at the end.

and I don't get what you mean by the WW2 reference as the US completely annihilated the most of the Japanese fleet at midway by luring them into a trap and sunk 4 carriers: Akagi, Kaga, Hiryu, and Soryu and 1 heavy cruiser Mikuma. This allowed us to maintain (if not complete then partial) air superiority (as the Aircraft carriers were at the bottom of the ocean) along with naval superiority over the rest of the war (until Leyte Gulf in which we finished off the IJN) Then we turned our attentions to islands New Guinea, the Solomons, Guadalcanal, Peleilu, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa (main battles) and completely dominated the Japanese ground troops on these islands (with the US sometimes outnumbered 2 to 1). For the first year and a half yes, it looked bad for the US, but that all changed on June 4th-7th 1942 when we destroyed their air superiority. From there on we dominated and controled the war, we were on full out offensive sending the Japanese reeling time and again.

I watched the Brasil vs USA game. I cried that my girls lost.
I root for USA any other time except for when they play Brasil. I just love them to death.
