Default New Dune movie coming soon.

Paramount is still in search of a director for their 3 part Dune project for the big screen! i hope it becomes true to the novels and ignore that 1984 David Lynch abortion.

The only good thing about the David Lynch version was Kyle McLachlin. Yow! I never watched him in Twin Peaks, that show was too freaky. Anyway, sorry got sidetracked...hummunahummuna

But a three part movie treatment of the books? Lord... everyone is trying to do a Star Wars...
We'll see what happens.

I love David Lynch.

I love Dune.

Do I love David Lynch's Dune? Nope.

There were a few nice aesthetic touches, and I liked a lot of the soundtrack.

If Sci-fi channel could pull it off in three parts (and that was just a low-budget miniseries), then a big-budget big screen film in three parts oughta look so astounding that I might even end up liking it more than Avatar. Dune is quite a powerful story.

I liked most but not all of the Sci-Fi channel's version. The plot remained pretty intact IIRC. The silly hats annoyed me.

I think Dune is one of those things (like the Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy) that has yet to have a completely succesful transfer to screen (big or otherwise).

HHGTTG certainly didn't well, but on the other hand, I don't think it ever could. Dune, possibly (after all, LOTR was done well).

The 1984 was very off from the book. I liked the Sci-fi channal Dune very much and I don't see why they need another just for the big screen.

@HarryCanyon When you think about it, Dune and Avatar are about the same thing.
