Default EVE Online: Alliance Tournament VIII.

Day one's finished. Any thoughts on the matches?

Personally, I thought match 2, (Agony Empir vs. Hydra reloaded) was just... WTF.

First off with the SB bomb spam from Hydra that just crushed Agony. Then Agony's bribe attempt, then Hydra just self destructing, without accepting the
bribe.

I was just wtf'ing that whole match really.

(oh, and surprise surprise, CVA looses...)

Hydra reloaded had 5 SB's as part of their team. they used bombs as an alpha strike, killing at least 2 AA ships outright, and eliminating almost all the shields on the others. Five minutes later, all HR ships are alive with full shield and armor HP, only one armor tanked command ship on AA side. The command ship starts speed tanking the HR force, and apparently AA then offered HR 3 billion isk to forfeit the match. A five minute standoff ensued.

Eventually, its confirmed that HR rejected the offer. However, all the HR ships self destruct, forfeiting the match. Big WTF there...

On one of the tournaments (it was 6th I think) a guy started shooting snowballs as he was going down. That was so epic...

Hmm I guess I'll listen to tournament commentary on EVE Radio. I love that station heheh.
